Broward Health’s Madison Workman Honored In Becker's Healthcare Leaders Under 40 List

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Madison Workman, Broward Health North's Chief Operating Officer (COO) was honored in Becker's Hospital Review's 2024 "Rising stars: Healthcare leaders under 40" list. This list honors leaders who are 40 years old or younger for their commitment to optimizing healthcare.

"Receiving this prestigious recognition is a tremendous honor, not just for me, but for our entire team at Broward Health North,” said Workman. “It's a testament to our collective dedication, as well as shared commitment to excellence and innovation in healthcare. I am proud to represent our team's efforts and the positive impact we strive to make in our community every day."

Workman supervises the operational goals of Broward Health North, a 409-bed level II trauma hospital, overseeing approximately 800 employees. His role entails the management of numerous departments such as engineering, laboratory services, radiology and pharmacy, and has expanded to include leading Broward Health’s Public Safety Department with more than 200 employees systemwide.

In collaborating with his leadership team, Workman strives to improve patient care, enhance employee culture, ensure compliance and safety, and build community relationships. In addition to handling all capital projects for Broward Health North, Workman drives employee engagement and meets operational goals through daily executive meetings and regular staff engagement.

Since joining Broward Health North as COO in 2023, he has led over $50 million in capital projects and heads monthly councils with other COO leaders across the system.

According to Becker’s, the individuals featured on this list are driving their organizations to advance, refine and continually improve their care delivery practices. They are proactive movers and shakers, actively molding the future of healthcare rather than merely responding to the industry's constant changes.

The full list features individual profiles of all leaders on the list and can be read here.
